“Don’t trust your teachers. Don’t trust me. Listen to what your grandma told you.” for Fontys

[slideshare id=7267254&doc=20110316cmfontyssocialmedia-110315021142-phpapp02] My old “university”, Fontys, launched a master ‘International Lifestyle Studies’ last year, which is pretty much about consumer insighting and trends. It must be the coolest master ever and I wish they had it when I was a young student.

Within that curriculum, I got to do a presentation on social media. It talks about how some things have never changed (you trust your peers, customer retention is more important than customer acquisition, etc.) en how technology is the driver for other changes. I tried to summarize things in an “extremely un-nuanced overview of old versus new marketing“.
